This popular BBC Scotland programme, presented by Paul Murton, is now in it`s seventh series. Scotland was once avoided by travellers due to its hostile environment but many changes have taken place since the beginning of tourism in the country two centuries ago. Using the Victorian book `Black`s Picturesque Guide to Scotland`, Paul goes on six different tours in each series to discover how the country became a destination of choice for many. Along the way he explores Scottish history and the beautiful landscape.
Series 1 includes the Trossachs, Dunkeld, Ben Nevis, the Isle of Skye, Shetland and the capital city, Edinburgh.
Series 2 includes Loch Maree, the Firth of Clyde and the Cairngorms National Park.
Series 3 includes the Isle of Arran, Glen Affric, Alloway and Ben Nevis.
Series 4 includes the Isle of Skye, Fair Isle, Lismore and Colonsay.
Series 5 includes the beautiful islands of Eriskay, Barra and Vatersay, the Isle of Mull, Gigha and Jura in the Hebrides, Oban and the Garvellach Islands.
Series 6 includes Lewis to Harris, The Ulsts and Benbecula, Isle of Ewe, Handa, Islay, The North Isles and Outstack.
Series 7 - using Black's Picturesque Guide to Scotland, Paul further explores the Islands.
Each series is approx. 3 hours long.
